Major Conciliar Seminary of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary – Pereira
BRIEF HISTORY
In November 1978, Bishop Darío Castrillón founded the Major Seminary of Pereira and placed it under the patronage of Mary Immaculate. On February 17th, 1979, the seminary was inaugurated with 49 seminarians.
Our mission is to provide doctrinal, pastoral, spiritual, human and community dimensions to all those called to the priesthood. This mission consists of preparing and accompanying them to respond to Christ and to the Church, in the context of the challenges and problems that characterize the realities of the third millennium, so that they can receive the sacrament of Orders, and thus be configured to Jesus Christ, Head and Shepherd of the Church and share with Him his universal mission of salvation.
